Meet the team
Haydn
Sharratt
BVSc CertSAS MRCVS
I grew up on a sheep farm in South Africa and moved to the UK soon
after qualifying in 1994. After travelling the world for a few years
I settled in London, left Large Animal Practice behind and have worked
exclusively in Small Animal Practice ever since. I started specialising
in 1996 and in 1999 achieved the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal
Surgery. Since then I've continued to work in and around London doing
both first opinion and second opinion/referral Orthopaedics and Soft
Tissue Surgery.
I still think of becoming a pro golfer, rugby player or cricketer
but the dream remains just that. My luck started to improve when
I married Astrid and things got even better with the arrival of
daughter number one in December 2006, followed by daughter number
two in October 2008! The two cats, Tigger and Toby, are now used
to our new additions, although my rapidly deteriorating handicap
shows little sign of improvement!
Danielle
Tuffey, VN
Head Nurse
Hi I’m Danielle, Head Nurse at The Pet’s Practice.
I live in Bedfont, Middlesex and have been nursing for eight years.
I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2002. I started my training
at a practice in Teddington and then moved to Egham where I first
worked with Haydn. During this time I worked extensively with a
specialist veterinary dentist, fuelling an interest in this field
that has continued since I joined The Pets Practice in the summer
of 2002.
I also have an interest in exotic pets, hence owning my 15 year
old Amazon parrot called Eric! I also own three very spoilt cats
called Missy, Smudge and Mink!
In my spare time I enjoy shopping, socialising and swimming!
Lottie
Newman-Smith , VN
Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I'm Lottie. I qualified in 1996 and completed my training at
the RVC Queen Mother Hospital in Potters Bar. Since then I've worked
in both Equine and Small Animal Practice. Prior to joining The Pets
Practice I was worked at an Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Central
London as an Emergency Veterinary Nurse. Here I developed a keen
interest in Emergency and Critical Care Nursing.
I especially enjoy wound management and nursing exotics. At home
in Sussex my parents own a smallholding and this is where I keep
my horse and miniature pot-bellied
pig called Wilma. I also have a badly behaved cocker spaniel called
Charlie. I enjoy most sports especially netball, horse riding and
ice skating. I also like retail therapy, going to the theatre and
chocolate!
Jasmine
Wilson, VN
Critical Care Veterinary Nurse
I'm Jasmine, I live in Ramsey nr Peterborough and have been veterinary
nursing for over fourteen years. I qualified in 2002 having previously
worked at a zoo near Cambridge and at Wood Green Animal Shelters
in Godmanchester. I used to show and breed Abyssinian and Egyptian
Mau cats but now my family just has six working ferrets. I have
been working nights at The Pets Practice since July 2008.
I have attended a volunteer summer camp programme annually held in Scotland
for many years, where I teach canoeing to teenagers.
I enjoy travelling and have been to over 30 countries to date.
In five on these countries I have done various volunteer projects
in the community, including neutering stray animals.
I have recently purchased a property and am in the process of redecorating.
I enjoy spending time in my garden and I grow my own vegetables.
Pauline
Jarvis
Client Services Manager
Hi my name is Pauline.
I joined the team at The Pets Practice in October 2007 after taking early retirement
from the NHS where I worked as a Radiographer / Clinical Manager at Charing
Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. I now work part time at the practice as the
Client Services Manager, carrying out a range of administrative and
reception duties.
I have a lovely little dog called Saffy, a Miniature Schnauzer, who
I am lucky enough to be able to bring to work with me. Outside
of work I enjoy meeting up with friends, keeping fit at the gym, and
lots of long walks with Saffy.
Natasha
Sheehan
Client Care Manager
Hi my name is Natasha. I live in Hayes, Middlesex. I joined The
Pets Practice as the friendly receptionist in June 2006. I had absolutely
no previous veterinary experience, so everything was new and exciting.
I am really enjoying working here with Haydn and the girls!
I am Irish and come from the sunny south-east from a tiny village
called Tallow, Co. Waterford. I moved over to London in January 2006
to be with my fiance who i am marrying in August this year! His extended
family are all from my town so we have known each other a very long
time.
I have a dog back home in the green isle called Mr President, who
is completely spoiled and loves to lie on his back to have his belly
rubbed all day! My main interest is clothes shopping, but I also
love the movies and Patricia Cornwell books. I also love football
and am a serious Manchester United fan - not good when you live in
London! I plan to join the gym and get fit at some stage.
Chris
Jones
Customer Care
Hi my name is Chris and I live in Hayes. I joined the team
at The Pets Practice as a part-time receptionist in July 2009 after
taking early retirement from The Nationwide Building Society, where
I worked for 30 years.
I have been coming to The Pets Practice
with my pets for many years and have always thought it would be a
lovely place to work.
I have a black Labrador/Bull Terrier called Shadow who is quite
challenging as he tries to eat anything and everything! I also have
a dear old cat called Charlie, two rabbits, Batman and Jean-Luc,
and four ferrets - Baloo, Milo, Number 2 and Number 3.
