Apart from injuring bones and joints, pets often require surgery to treat problems that involve other organs such as the skin, lungs and abdominal organs. This is called soft tissue surgery.
The Pets Practice has extensive experience of dealing with a multitude of problems of this nature and treats many complicated injuries such as: -
- Tumour and cancer surgery
- Complex skin injuries requiring skin grafts and other reconstruction techniques
- Hernia surgery
- Thoracic surgery including exploratory thoracotomy, lung lobectomy (removal of lung lobes) etc.
- Abdominal surgery including liver biopsies (both surgical and ultrasound guided biopsies), gastro-intestinal surgery, urogenital surgery such as bladder and uterine surgery.
