Rabbits can become infected with intestinal worms, but they are also often affected by an organism called Encephalitozoon cuniculi which causes many symptoms in rabbits, including neurological and urinary tract disease.
For these reasons it is very important to worm your rabbit regularly to control these organisms.
Recommended parasite prevention protocol
All rabbits: Treatment with an oral paste for 9 consecutive days, every 6 months.
Note: Sometimes we will advise that it is not necessary to worm to this exact protocol, so please feel free to contact one of our trained Veterinary Nurses for a free chat and we can advise you of the best protocol for your rabbit.
