The ability to take good quality x-rays is fundamental, and here at The Pets Practice our equipment is second to none.
We also perform complicated types of x-rays such as: -
- Myelography – the injection of dye next to the spinal cord to assess whether there are any slipped discs or not.
- Contrast studies – such as the injection of dye into the bladder.
- Chest x-rays – used to help diagnose lung disease and as a valuable tool in addition to our echocardiography skills, for the diagnosis of heart disease.
Note: All x-ray procedures will require your pet to be anaesthetised. This complies with radiation protection laws but also is the only way to get them to lie still on the x-ray table!
